Started in September 1951, Kenosha County Association for Home and Community Education (KCAHCE) is one of 45 county organizations that maintain membership with the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education, Inc. KCAHCE provides educational programs for its members, who then share the information they learn with family, friends and neighbors. KCAHCE also gives members opportunities to volunteer their time and talents within the local community. KCAHCE is governed by a Board of Directors and administered by various committees.
The September 3, 2026, Education Program is “Nordic Food and Fun During the Holiday Season” with Marcus Cederstrom, UW-Madison Badger Talk Program speaker. It will be in the Hearing Room at the Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th Street in Bristol.

This talk focuses on two specific traditions—St. Lucia’s Day and Christmas along with related holiday foods—in the Nordic countries by giving a short history of the holidays, describing how they’ve changed over time, and discussing how they’re celebrated in the US.
It will also feature fall celebrations. In doing so, we discuss how food and holiday celebrations show that traditions ground us in our past, reflecting our present, and change as we create our own future.
