2.    [XXXX COUNTY] Home and Community Education group attends state conference

[YOUR TOWN], Wis. -- Members of the [XXXX COUNTY] Association for Home and Community Education attended "76 Trombones Leading HCE" musical themed annual statewide conference held in Eau Claire, September 12 - 14, 2016.    The Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education organization has been active in the State of Wisconsin for 76 years.

The [XXX COUNTY] chapter of the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education Association is part of the non-profit organization that partners with University of Wisconsin-Extension Family Living Programs at the state and county level to bring quality educational programs to members and their communities. At this year's conference, attendees had the opportunity to take part in 5 different tours highlighting the Eau Claire area of Northwest Wisconsin.  Attendees  also had 36 different session topics offered to participate in which included but not limited to- Food Sensitivities and Food Allergies; Women Empowerment; Hiking the Ice Age Trail and Keeping your Brain Fit to name a few.

3.       Every penny counts in "Pennies for Friendship" campaign  

Support from [XXX COUNTY] Association for Home and Community Education helps increase worldwide education, cultural understanding

[YOUR TOWN], Wis:; Wisconsin Association for  Home and Community Education, Inc., members helped support international friendship, understanding and a better quality of life for rural women and families by collecting [$$$$] for the "Pennies for Friendship" program.

"Pennies for Friendship" is a worldwide plan by which individuals may take an active part in the work of ACWW by contributing coins or currency.

Funds collected by the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education, Inc.,  which  [XXXX COUNTY]  contributes to, will go toward supporting  Associated Country Women of the World project funds, such as Water for All Fund - which supports water projects to improve health and hygiene and   Women Feed the World- which supports food-growing projects

The roots of the "Pennies for Friendship" collection date back to 1939 when women members of ACWW were asked to donate the smallest coin of their country to continue the organization's work on behalf of rural women. Today, the collection supports a variety of functions, including links to the United Nations, conferences and the organization's national publication, the Countrywoman (http://www.acww.org.uk/acww-the-countrywoman.html).

4.  State Home and Community Education Week highlights group's work for local, international families

[TOWN NAME], Wis.--The Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education, Inc., is getting the word out about the benefits the group brings to rural families in Wisconsin and beyond as it marks Home and Community Education (HCE) Week on November 6 - 12, 2016. 

"HCE has a long and rich history," says [YOUR NAME]. "Its work goes back to the extension home demonstration agents who worked in 17 counties to teach women how to use wheat, sugar and meat substitutes during World War I."

In 1940, the first official meeting of County Home Demonstration Councils from 22 Wisconsin counties was held. In 2016, HCE celebrates its 76th anniversary of organization.

Throughout major changes in technology, lifestyles and the roles of women in society, HCE has brought high-quality educational offerings to its members and communities with the support of UW-Extension Family Living Programs.

Today, county HCE organizations work on projects that enhance life for communities and the families who live there and throughout Wisconsin and worldwide.  The mission of Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education (WAHCE) offers learning in a social setting, sharing what is learned and caring to make a difference in our homes, communities and the world. 

A sampling of WAHCE activities include:

-       The Wisconsin BookwormsTM program. HCE volunteers encourage literacy by reading to and providing low-income children with books they might not otherwise be able to afford.

-       Services and Stitches of Love. Hundreds of handmade items are donated to children and families every year. In general, HCE volunteers donate many hours to community service projects.

-       International work. HCE members contribute annually to the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) organization.

5.  Local Home and Community Education members participate in State WAHCE Cultural Arts Contest

Their articles were [XXX].  The State WAHCE Cultural Arts contest for 2016 had [xxx] entries in 18 categories that span from Photography, Poems, and Essays to Quilting.  In 2016, a special category "Let's Make Music" was added to expand on the conference musical theme.
